Sun Drum
Below you ’ll find answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. Our Forest school program raises some understandable concerns, All questions are welcome. Check out the list of FAQs below, and please contact us if you still have more questions.
What do you do if the weather is raining and cold?
So we usually Play! Keeping warm and dry are usually the most important things for happy creative play. Waterproofs are important on rainy days. We will also usually create some form of shelter with tarps or tents and the woodland itself usually offers us some form of shelter.
What about severe storms?
Our policy is to be out in all weather conditions, rain or shine but severe storms and extreme winds are two weather conditions that we would avoid using the woodland area so cancelation of the session may be needed.
What happens when an accident occurs in the forest?
Children who are used to playing outdoors are less likely to get injuries, they make natural risk assessments so they can take account of dangers. All areas and activities have been fully risk assessed by trained forest school leaders. We have a accident policy and procedure process to follow and trained outdoor first aiders on site to deal with any incidences.
