About Us

Connect with Nature. Connect with yourself. Connect with each other.
Create Tribe

Sun Drum, is a fun and dynamic association, formed of passionate individuals who are advocates of promoting our natural world while offering opportunities to raise well-being through music and the arts. We use all recycled and or natural resources in our programs and have a minimal waste policy. We come up with the most sustainable alternatives and have a 'leave no trace' ethos. Community matters to us, our programs are available to kids, adults and families of all abilities and backgrounds. Offering unique experiences where they can connect with nature and themselves through various art forms. Some of which are natural craft, music, drumming, dance, circus skills. We provide a variety of programs and activities, and have a team of a qualified staff committed to the enjoyment and safety of all our participants .

We believe that the the woodland environment promotes well-being for all participants and that everybody should have the opportunity for regular, long-term access to their local woodland which provides them with inspirational and challenging outdoor learning opportunities. Participants who come to the Forest School sessions will be given the opportunity to develop their curiosity, confidence, self-esteem, creativity, empathy, communication skills, knowledge of the natural environment and ability to assess risk. We encourage child- led initiatives and group co-operation.

We aim for all our participants and staff to modal a high level of respect for the natural world and encourage all to be involved in decisions about their environment and safety. By operating in a way that minimises waste, optimises recycling and promotes the reuse of materials we hope to demonstrate and encourage a wider respect for the environment, as well as an understanding that all produce and waste is linked to the health of our planet as a whole.

We have a sister project based in the Jungle region, of the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. Where we are currently creating a space of learning and exploration. Our association ethos lies in a great respect for the natural world and an alliance to protect and promote the great abundance and knowledge that can be utilized within natural spaces. Working with forest school principles and the traditional knowledge from the people of the Amazon Rainforest we are putting together a learning center for the local community and children. This formation will not only influence this region of the Amazon Rainforest but can act as a template for other centers and inspire the wider community as well as inform international learning objectives. We are looking to create a reforestation project, planting native species within the region.  We also want to create a food forest and permaculture area as part of our learning center. Using traditional bio-construction methods from the region to build as well as composting toilets and rainwater collection and filtration systems.  These are long term goals and the seeding of a new way of learning and sharing knowledge. We are looking for Donations and potential funders so if you would like to Donate to this project please get in touch.
